The nearest airport is Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska. Birchwood Camp is located approximately 40 minutes North of the airport. We will run a one time shuttle that will pick-up at the airport, then downtown Anchorage on Thursday, and then head to the venue. We will also have a one-time shuttle back to the airport/downtown that will leave the venue at 5 pm. Please indicate whether you are planning on taking the shuttle when you register. All activities and food will take place at the Birchwood Camp venue, so there is no need for a rental car during your stay.
If you are arriving early or late, we recommend posting in the Midnight Sun Tango Campfire page to coordinate ride-sharing with local Tangueras/os or other Tango Travelers. Both Uber/Lyft and rental cars are available; it is approximately $50-$60 to get to the venue using a ride-sharing app, and because it is the prime season in Alaska rental car prices are higher than normal. The least expensive economy car rental from kayak.com is $72 per day last we checked.
